Offer your time and resources as an individual, organization, or business to help support
teaching the gift of soccer through” Operation Gold-Stars,” an initiative of Goldstar Soccer
Club to promote to the sport of soccer to everyone in our community regardless of
skill level or financial ability.
All soccer players are encouraged to participate in our program by donating their gently used
cleats/shin guards, soccer balls and any other soccer gear they deem neat (i.e. Professional
Team Jerseys, DVD’s, accessories, etc.) These items will be offered to family members (youth and
who are in need of soccer equipment
This is a public service and those involved in volunteering can utilize this for community
service credit hours. Youth/teen soccer players from all soccer clubs are welcome to offer their
coaching services when we are offering free soccer clinics.
Some things to consider: Combine Your Goals.
Look for volunteer opportunities that will also help you achieve your other goals for your life. For example, if you want to become a better soccer coach, or even
learn how to become one- volunteering for one of our clinics is a perfect opportunity for you.
Or, if you are interested in playing college soccer, you can
volunteer your time with our coaches and learn additional
coaching / soccer skills.
Your volunteer credits can be used on your college portfolio.
Consider Volunteering as a Family.
Think about looking for a volunteer opportunity suitable for parents and children to do together, or for a husband and wife to take on as a team. When a family
volunteers to work together at a nonprofit organization, the experience can bring them closer together, teach young children the value of giving their time and
effort, introduce everyone in the family to skills and experiences never before encountered, and give the entire family a shared experience as a wonderful family
memory.
Virtual Volunteering?
What? Virtual Volunteering? Is there such a thing? Yes! If you have access to a computer and the necessary skills, we have opportunities for volunteers work over the
computer. Whether is be emailing info to local organizations regarding clinics/needs, grant writing, in kind donations or simply making flyers; this sort of
volunteering might be well suited to you if you have limited time, no transportation, or a physical disability that precludes you from getting about freely.
Virtual volunteering can also be a way for you to give time if you simply enjoy computers and want to employ your computer skills in your volunteer work.
Stay fit with playing soccer!
